Exposition dedicated to the writer Johannes Bobrowski
Johannes Konrad Bernard Bobrowski was born in Tilsit on 9 April 1917. Bobrowski‘‘s grandmother lived in Vilkyškiai and later on in Mociškiai village. The experiences of childhood and youth related to the rural household of Klaipėda Region and unique landscape take an important part in the poetic works of J. Bobrowski. The most famous novels written by J. Bobrowski – Levin‘s Mill and Lithuanian Grand Pianos. The Exposition dedicated to the writer Johannes Bobrowski was founded in Vilkyškiaion 21 July 2013. Original documents, manuscripts from J. Bobrowski literary works ans the authentic writer‘s workroom are exhibited in the memorial room. The personal belongings of J. Bobrowksi and his work room were donated by Adam and Justas Bobrowski. The founding of the exposition was funded by Ernst O Winnacker, Waltraud and Werner Boes from Hilden, Ewald Hein from Muhlheim, Jorg Nass and priest Mindaugas Kairys with the family.
